Registry Cleaners - Don't believe the Hype

When it comes to Registry Cleaners don't believe the hype. Registry cleaners are a lot like Publishers Clearing House. "Everyone could be a Millionaire!"
What I mean by this is, registry cleaners are always going to find errors, but your computer can run perfectly fine with them. Here is why..
Why Registry Errors are OK
The registry is a directory that stores your settings in windows. Let's play make believe and install a fake program called... Bubbas Pop-Up Blocker, it writes some keys to the registry that store your preferences. We try it for a few days, and then uninstall the application. Guess what you still have those preferences in the registry for that application, unless the application uninstall was smart enough to delete them. (most are not). All Registry Cleaners will now point those out as errors. The reason is that you have entries for an application, "Bubbas Pop-Up Blocker", that doesn't exist. Is this going to prevent your computer from running? NO! These registry cleaners will allow you to install the demo, and then charge you for the full version. Don't waste your time, or money, on registry cleaners. If you are really wanting to clean your system out, back up your data and do a reinstall of your operating system. It's actually quite easy as most machines (Dells, HP, Gateways, etc) come with restore disk or similar software.
*Just a warning. If you hose your computer by following any of my advice above I am not reasonable. lol. Make sure to back up all data before messing with the registry or windows. Good luck and remember, "back up your data", and it's ok to tinker.
If your Hell Bent on a Registry Cleaner

If your Hell Bent on a Registry Cleaner... then I would suggest Registry Mechanic as PC Tools is a very reputable company, and there software actually works. I'm an in no way or form associated with PC Tools and am not prmoting the software for a profit.
